An area park will be one of nearly a dozen in Oakland County to see major improvements thanks to a collaboration of local and federal dollars.
The Oakland County Board of Commissioners recently approved utilizing $15 million of the county’s $244 million share of American Rescue Plan Act dollars while the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission is providing $5.2 million in matching funds.
The Healthy Communities Park and Outdoor Recreation Investment Plan will make a $500,000 investment at Lyon Oaks County Park in Lyon Township.
The funds will pay for regional trail connection construction, construction of a universally accessible playground and pickleball court and a pavilion/gatherings space.
