Livingston ESA hosted its second annual Youth Employment Fair on April 26th, with more than 65 local employers participating, helping to bridge the gap between education and employment by offering summer jobs, full- and part-time positions, internships, and apprenticeships to high school students and recent graduates.
Daniel Money, an Early College Cyber Security Student and one of over 150 job-seekers who attended said, “Tonight was really informative and full of great employers – even a few that I hadn’t looked at before.”
The fair, which offered various job opportunities in education, health and human services, manufacturing, trades, business, transportation, and engineering, was a chance for students to connect and grow their careers.
“It was inspiring to see so many students taking the initiative to explore their career options and connect with potential employers,” said Rebecca Holman, Livingston County Early College Program Coordinator at Livingston ESA.
Students interacted with potential employers, asked about job openings, and submitted their resumes. Employers were said to be impressed with the caliber of the candidates and the enthusiasm displayed.
Livingston ESA officials thanked all who participated, including local businesses and job seekers, for making this event a success.
