In today’s business news, unexpected layoffs in California are on the rise just before the holidays.

When it comes to layoffs in the US, WarnTracker reports that California has a longer history than any other state, with Texas following closely behind.

Just in 2024, for instance, 513 different corporations in California were involved in at least 20,730 WARN layoffs.

  • There will be seventy-one layoffs at Penumbra, Inc. by November 11th.
  • Vertex Aerospace, LLC, doing business as V2X! Nearly forty-six jobs will be eliminated by October 31.
  • There will be 196 layoffs at Cuberg, Inc. by October 19th.
  • There will be 33 layoffs at Five9, Inc. on August 20.
  • The Federal Trade Commission (FTC). 301 positions will be eliminated by October 18th.
  • A canoe. by October 15th, 185 jobs will have been eliminated.
  • Around October 14th, GRAIL, Inc. will have laid off 179 workers.
  • This is Northrop Grumman. By October 14th, 430 jobs will have been eliminated.
  • The 112th layoff at Pitney Bowes Inc. will take place on October 8th.
  • Roseville Distribution Center, doing business as Save Mart Supermarkets, S.L. 283. Reduced workforce by October 12th.
