Authorities stated that they had captured a 39-year-old convicted felon in an unincorporated area surrounding Vista. The man was wanted for various offenses, including possession of more than 35 rifles and handguns.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Sugarbush Terrace about a violation of a temporary restraining order, according to Lt. George Crysler.
While doing their investigation, deputies found out that the home was inhabited by Sean Christiansen, a felon. According to Crysler, the sheriff’s detectives also found ammunition and multiple firearms in Christiansen’s possession. With this information, they were able to secure a search warrant for Christiansen’s residence.
Authorities reported finding more than 35 firearms, including rifles and handguns, during the search. The vast majority of these firearms are considered illegal to possess.
