IMPD After the East Side Burglary, Grocery Shelves Were Wiped Out

INDIANAPOLIS —

On Thursday morning, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to an east-side burglary where two individuals were accused of completely wiping the grocery store’s shelves.

At around 7:36 a.m., the Food Mart location on E 21st Street received a report, to which IMPD responded. They found two suspects—a guy and a woman—who are presently under investigation when they arrived.

A press release stated that the two took $7,000 from a cash register, as well as assorted tobacco goods for around $1,000 and random foodstuffs worth about $2,000.

The “grocery shelves [were] wiped out,” according to the IMPD, but the precise items taken have not yet been inventoried. There were no reported firearms at the location.

The names of the two suspects are still pending. The inquiry is still being conducted.
