A woman from Mexico, who has been deported from the U.S. four times and has multiple criminal convictions, was sent back to her home country once again. Leticia Caballero Guadarrama, 53, was deported on Thursday after being convicted six times for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and another six times for theft. She was previously removed from the U.S. on four different occasions, but her actions continued to put her at odds with the law.
Bret Bradford, the Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations for the Houston Field Office, expressed his shock and disappointment with Guadarrama’s actions. “I have served in law enforcement for more than 30 years and few things surprise me, but the level of disrespect that this criminal alien has shown for our system of laws and for the brave men and women who risk their lives every day to uphold those laws is shocking,” Bradford said in response to the situation.
Guadarrama was taken from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, and was transported to the Laredo Port of Entry, where she was handed over to Mexican authorities. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that she was released into Mexico on Friday.
ICE officials noted that Guadarrama had illegally entered the U.S. at least six times before choosing to return to Mexico voluntarily in 2002. Despite her previous deportations, she continued to return to the U.S., committing several criminal acts. Over the years, she was convicted multiple times for DWI, a serious offense, and for stealing from others.

Bradford emphasized the seriousness of her actions, saying, “After repeatedly entering the country illegally and getting behind the wheel intoxicated, she has victimized hard-working Texans over and over again by stealing their money and property and then attempted to avoid accountability by refusing to provide law enforcement with identification after she was caught.” He added that her reckless disregard for the law endangered the safety of the community and resulted in a significant misuse of taxpayer funds.
ICE officials stated that Guadarrama’s criminal history shows a pattern of unlawful behavior that spanned years. Each time she was caught, she continued to commit offenses, showing no regard for the legal system or the harm she caused to others.
The case has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of repeat offenders in the U.S. and the impact of illegal immigration on communities. It highlights concerns over the enforcement of immigration laws and the challenges law enforcement agencies face in handling individuals who continuously break the law. Despite multiple deportations, individuals like Guadarrama continue to find their way back into the country, contributing to the strain on the immigration system and resources.
The U.S. government has made significant efforts to combat illegal immigration, but cases like Guadarrama’s demonstrate the ongoing struggles law enforcement faces in controlling the border and ensuring the safety and security of U.S. citizens. The deportation of Guadarrama is seen as another attempt to send a message that illegal actions, particularly repeated criminal behavior, will not be tolerated.
While the deportation has been seen as a victory for law enforcement, it also raises questions about the broader issue of illegal immigration and the consequences faced by repeat offenders. As authorities continue to enforce immigration laws, cases like this one highlight the need for continued vigilance and tougher enforcement to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
