I-96 traffic stop turns up gun, cash and drugs

 

A traffic stop Monday in Genoa Township yielded marijuana, a handgun and nearly $10,000 in cash.

Michigan State Police say a trooper with the Hometown Security Team pulled over a driver Monday afternoon on I-96 in the eastbound lanes near Latson Road at about 2 p.m..

MSP says the driver, a 21-year-old Muskegon man, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to delivery marijuana, felony firearm possession, altering a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to a tweet, the handgun’s serial number had been filed off, and there was a total of $9,457 cash in the vehicle.
