An event later this month will gather area residents to help protect and improve a local waterway.
The annual Hamburg Township Huron River Clean Up Day is set for Saturday, July 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will gather at 8 a.m. at the Livingston County Wildlife & Conservation Club Parking Lot. – 6060 East M-36.
Tasks to be performed involve removing fallen trees and debris from the river/river bank areas to improve the water flow to help prevent flooding and to improve navigation of the Huron River in Hamburg Township.
All volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and tasks being performed and are asked to bring mosquito repellant, sunscreen and a life jacket.
Waders and gloves are needed for some tasks.
Bringing an extra change of clothing may also be necessary.
