Howell American Legion set for annual Christmas Day dinner, donations and volunteers still sought

The Howell American Legion Post 141 will once again be hosting their annual Community Christmas Dinner.

Dinner will be served at the Post on Christmas Day from 12 to 4 p.m. while members take to the roads in order to deliver meals to those unable to get out, including all Livingston County Meals on Wheels recipients, nursing home residents, first responders and Emergency Room staff. Last year, more than 500 meals were served.

A handicapped-accessible bus will also be made available for anyone needing a ride to and from the American Legion if they want to dine among other community members.

According to a post on the Legion’s Facebook page, volunteer delivery drivers are being asked to show up at the American Legion on Sunday between 9:30 and 10 a.m.

The post is also still in need of desserts with donations being accepted at the post, located at 3265 W. Grand River Ave. Howell, MI 48855. Cash donations are also accepted.

Those interested in more information, can call the post at 517-546-2534.
