Horry County, South Carolina (MJP) —
A recently filed complaint claims that the owner of a well-known Horry County nightclub had long disregarded the rising violence that culminated in the shooting murder of a North Carolina man in the club’s parking lot in April of last year.
Rockingham resident Jadis Nelson, 22, passed away on April 24 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She had been shot at 3001 Nightlife on Lake Arrowhead Road in Horry County on April 7, and it had been about three weeks since the incident.
Defendants in a 10-page complaint lodged in Horry County Common Pleas Court on Friday include five unidentified employees, Lake Arrowhead Ventures, LLC, the manager who was on duty at the time of the shooting, and the company itself.
Suit No. 3001: Nightclub According to the lawsuit, Nelson’s estate is suing for damages that have not been determined, citing carelessness as the basis for their lawsuit. They are also demanding a jury trial.
The proprietor of 3001 Nightlife, Roger Davisson, is also the registered agent of Lake Arrowhead Ventures LLC.
The lawsuit asserts that the defendants were aware, or should have been aware, of various disturbances, including shootings, fights, trespassing, drug activities, assaults, robberies, loitering, and disturbances, at the premises and/or in the nearby area, for at least five years before the incident.

“Among these incidents was a shooting that took place in the parking lot not long after the previous two months.”
The death of Nelson was partially caused, according to the attorneys, by chronic oversight, poorly trained staff, a lack of surveillance, and inadequate on-site training.
Kevin Jamaire Gause, 22, of Hoffman, N.C., is facing a murder charge; Shania Denise Fuller, 21, of McLeansville, N.C., and Eva Darline Pricher, 40, of Hoffman, were both arrested in June on charges of accessory after the fact to murder. Three more individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident.
Gause shot Nelson many times in the head and abdomen using a firearm he had on him, according to an arrest warrant. At around 1:50 a.m., the event occurred, injuring a second individual.
A man who did not want to be named stepped out of the white Hyundai that Fuller was driving and shot two men, Nelson included. The criminal re-boarded the getaway car and drove away.
According to the warrant, “Shania Fuller did not offer aid to the victim, left the area with the suspect, and did not report the incident to law enforcement.”
In addition to the victims, Pricher was also named in the warrant as having fired shots at them. According to a witness who spoke to the police before she did this, she said, “If anyone got a problem with [redacted], he can get handled.”
Even though Davisson was unavailable for comment on Saturday, he promised changes on the 3001 Nightlife Facebook page the day following the shooting.

According to a Facebook post made by 3001 Nightlife owner Roger Davisson on Sunday night, “It was between two people that were dead set on killing each other.” So said the post. Not the club, but each other was the target of their gunfire. I am so grateful that no unsuspecting customers were hurt during the confrontation.
Davisson has managed venues in Horry County for many years, making him a famous figure in the entertainment industry.
“The club world has changed and people as a whole have changed,” he stated on Facebook, reflecting on his 44 years of experience.
“Our team will carefully analyze the issue at hand, determine when it occurred, and implement necessary changes to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.”
