Orleans County, New York — The theft of a trailer with a costly roofing machine is allegedly the work of two individuals.
After stealing a trailer with a roofing machine inside, deputies said Paul Rutherford Jr., 51, and Cori Rutherford, 27, were apprehended and sold the stolen item for $4,000 in North Carolina.
The trailer contains a roofing machine that is worth more than $100,000.
Paul, according to the deputies, has a lengthy criminal record, including more than 28 arrests and four felonies in New York State. Paul was taken into custody in February on accusations that he had stolen tools and diesel fuel from various farms.

On September 20, when the indictment was unsealed, the two men were brought before Orleans County Court for arraignment. After facing charges of second-degree grand larceny, Cori was released.

Two charges of second-degree grand larceny
Theft in the third degree, two counts
Fourth Degree Criminal Damage
Paul was released the same day after posting bail of $50,000 and $25,000 in cash.
