Retirees who do not qualify for Social Security retirement benefits on September 3, may receive their money from September 11 onward. This will be possible for those who are not receiving SSI and get benefits after April 30, 1997.
Some retirees may receive up to $4,873 on September 11, 2024. See below for more details on how to achieve the largest Social Security benefit payments in 2024.
September 11 – Social Security payday
The Administration will start delivering the next round of Wednesday payments on September 11, 2024. Those retirees who do not qualify for the September 3 payment and meet the birthday requirement will get money in their bank accounts.
You must have been born before the 11th to receive money on September 11. Those who were born after the 10th but before the 21st will receive their checks one week later.
That is on September 18. The last retirement benefit payment will be sent on September 25. This will be for those whose birthday is from 21-31. It does not matter the year or month you were born.
Social Security payment amounts from September 11
The maximum payment amounts range from $2,710 through $4,873.

October SSI Update: Direct Payment of $943 to Be Issued in 30 Days
- maximum payment for retirees who filed at Full Retirement Age: $3,822
- maximum payment for retirees who filed at 62: $2,710
- maximum payment for retirees who filed at 70: $4,873
Do not forget that it is very unlikely many recipients get such a large Social Security check or direct deposit. These recipients must have worked for 35 years, earned the contribution and benefit base all those years, and had jobs that paid enough taxes to SSA.
The next possibility is to have a lower-than-average payment. Average retirement payments are worth $1,919 said Social Security last August. If you earn a lot less than an average payment, you’d better apply for SSI. SSI stands for the Supplemental Security Income. This Federal payment will be sent next on October 1, 2024. It can provide recipients with a check of up to $943.
