Heartbreaking Stories: Metro Atlanta Families Share the Pain of Gaza’s War!

Metro Atlanta is home to many families with loved ones facing danger in Gaza because of the ongoing war.

Ghada Elnajjar and her husband, Nidal Ibrahim, have lost 120 family members since the conflict worsened in October 2023.

“Even the ones who survived lost everything. Their homes are destroyed, and they’re now displaced, living without homes or memories,” Elnajjar told a reporter.

“They move between refugee camps, thinking these areas are safe zones,” added Ibrahim.

Another family, the Asarnows, who live in Marietta, has been praying for the violence to end.

“We’re praying for peace, for this to stop. If negotiations happen, we hope they succeed,” said David Asarnow.

David’s son, Josh, moved to Israel and joined the military just before the October attacks.

“These people need a lot of help. They need support,” David shared.

Both families are hopeful that the ceasefire will hold, allowing aid to reach those in need.

“We hope to see food, water, and supplies flowing into the region soon,” Ibrahim said.

Ghada Elnajjar expressed her wish that, if the ceasefire continues, rebuilding can begin.

“It will take years to recover,” she said.

This reflects the deep pain and hope Metro Atlanta families feel as they remain connected to the ongoing conflict.
