Heart of Michigan, 203 W. Grand River in Howell, will host its 12th annual food drive for Gleaners Food Bank on Saturday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A Gleaners Food Bank truck will be parked outside the store with the goal to fill it to the brim with food and personal care items for local people in need in Livingston County.
The first 50 people who donate 10 or more non-perishable, non-expired items will be given a bag full of Michigan made items from companies that have donated items, including Cherry Republic, Beauchamp Water Treatment Solutions, Michi-Gummies, Jiffy (Chelsea Milling Company), Milford Spice Company, Puzzles That Rock, American Gourmet, Hanover Mints, Little Diablo Salsa, Country Home Creations, Sansonetti Sauces, Sayklly’s Candies, Velvet Peanut Buter, Al Dente Pasta, Great Lakes Proud, and Heart of Michigan Candles & Air Fresheners.
“This food drive helps raise awareness for an important cause and provides a truck full of food and personal care items for people in need,” says Karen Wing, Owner of Heart of Michigan. “We will be open and accepting items all day on Saturday and hope to fill the truck. We want to thank the companies that have already partnered with us by donating their products to the event, and our community for their continued support of this high-impact event.”
Heart of Michigan is a Michigan-made store that offers individual Michigan products and gift baskets.
