Firefighters from multiple departments battled a barn fire Tuesday afternoon in Hartland Township.
Just after 3 p.m., the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority was called out to a fully involved fire in a 40’ by 60’ barn in the 13000 block of M-59, west of Tipsico Lake Road. Smoke was visible from as far away as I-96 and Grand River Avenue.
The fire was quickly upgraded to a 2nd alarm, with the Highland Township Fire Department, Brighton Area Fire Authority, Howell Area Fire Department providing mutual aid. DART was also on scene assisting firefighters.
The barn was a complete loss. A request for further details on the fire and its cause has been made to the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority.
