NE DC Gas Station Shooting Employee Injured in Disturbing Incident

WASHINGTON — An Exxon gas station employee was shot at work late Wednesday night.

D.C. Police responded to an Exxon gas station at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday night on the 1300 block of Florida Avenue Northeast.

They found a woman working in the store had been shot in the upper chest once. She was brought to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police are looking for a man armed with a handgun.

They say he is about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, wearing a dark-colored scarf covering his mouth, a long leather jacket, a black or tan hat, and dark-colored jeans.

It’s not clear what led up to the employee being shot.
