A well-liked supermarket company has recently confirmed that, by year’s end, there will be unannounced closures throughout the Northeast.
The grocery store chain Stop & Shop has declared that it will close 32 underperforming stores nationwide.
According to the corporation, a few stores in the Northeast will close before the year is over.
By November 2, stores in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey will close.
The corporation made the impending store closings known in May.
According to a press release dated July 12, company president Gordon Reid stated, “Stop & Shop has evaluated its overall store portfolio and made the difficult decision to close underperforming stores to create a healthy base for the future growth of our brand.”
The head of the company went on to say that the closures were necessary “to create a healthy base for our brand’s future growth.”
Thankfully, a press release states that workers would be offered new roles inside the organization.
