Tampa, Florida – A vibrant new dining destination is redefining what it means to serve truly authentic, fresh Southwestern cuisine. Boda Authentic Mexican has officially opened its doors in Tampa, bringing a unique blend of culture, creativity, and commitment to fresh ingredients — all tied together by a theme that celebrates love, life, and tradition.
A Wedding of Flavor and Freshness
The restaurant’s name, “Boda,” means “wedding” in Spanish, and that concept runs through everything — from the décor to the menu. According to owner Andres Farfan, the idea behind Boda isn’t just to offer Mexican food but to create an experience that feels as special and joyful as a wedding celebration.
“Boda is a fresh Mexican concept,” Farfan explained. “Boda means ‘wedding’ in Spanish. The theme of the restaurant is a Day of the Dead wedding. Another idea too is when you go to a wedding, the food is fresh.”
That philosophy of freshness drives every decision in Boda’s kitchen — and it’s exactly what sets the restaurant apart from traditional Tex-Mex eateries.
Made Fresh, Every Day
Boda’s menu revolves around one guiding principle: everything is made from scratch. Farfan emphasizes that there are no shortcuts, no artificial seasonings, and no compromise on quality.
“We make everything from scratch,” Farfan said. “The only seasoning in this restaurant is salt. Everything is an herb, a vegetable, or a pepper. That’s how we acquire all of the flavors — all of the marinades.”
This back-to-basics approach ensures that each dish highlights the natural flavors of the ingredients while staying true to authentic Mexican roots. From marinated meats to handmade tortillas, every item on the menu reflects time, care, and attention to detail.
Food as Medicine
For Farfan, cooking is about more than just flavor — it’s about nourishment and balance. His culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that what we eat has the power to heal and energize us.
“I’m a true believer that food is medicine, and I think that what we put in our bodies is so important,” he said.
That sentiment is proudly displayed inside the restaurant, where a sign reads: “La Comida es Medicina” — meaning “Food is Medicine.” It’s a simple message, but one that perfectly captures the heart of Boda’s mission: to bring people together over meals that make them feel good inside and out.

A Home-Cooked Feel
Everything at Boda — from the recipes to the ambiance — is designed to feel personal and welcoming. Farfan’s goal is for every guest to experience the warmth and comfort of a home-cooked meal while discovering the bold, vibrant flavors of Southwestern cuisine.
“Everything is made in-house. The idea was just to cook and serve as homemade as possible,” Farfan shared. “It’s a very easy menu — if you like Mexican food, it’s a great menu for you to try fresh food.”
Guests can expect dishes that balance spice, freshness, and texture, paired with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that invites conversation and connection.
