Following the passing of longtime councilman Bruce “Jerry” Bell Jr., the Fowlerville Village Council has made an appointment to fill the vacant seat.
Jamie Hernden , the owner of Shear Image Salon and Boutique, was sworn in as Bell’s replacement at Monday’s council meeting.
Bell, who originally joined the council in 2008, passed away March 15th after a battle with cancer. According to his obituary, Bell “worked hard to better his community through many years of public service, as he served on village council, founded Fowlerville’s Mission House (AA), and assisted in the planning of the new Fire Department as commissioner on the project.”
Hernden will serve out the remainder of Bell’s term, until November 2024.
