The Fowlerville Police Department has announced a new bicycle patrol program.
According to a social media post, Brighton Police Department Chief Brent Pirochota donated two patrol bicycles to the Fowlerville department, which were picked up by Fowlerville Police Chief Tyler on Thursday.
“We are thrilled to announce that the Fowlerville Police Department is rolling out a new initiative to enhance community policing and keep our neighborhoods safer than ever!,” stated the post. “Our dedicated officers will hit the streets on two wheels, patrolling local parks, downtown areas, and other locations not easily accessible by traditional patrol cars.”
Fowlerville Police encouraged residents to support and engage with their officers when they see them on their bicycles.
“Feel free to approach them, say hello, and share any concerns or information that may contribute to the safety and well-being of our community. Together, we can make our community an even safer and more vibrant place to live, work, and play!”
