Florida has suffered some manufacturing job losses and facility closures this year. I’ve covered the closure of Dart Industries, Inc., and the loss of 250 manufacturing jobs at Kimball Electronics.
Florida has also experienced hundreds of layoffs at Nidec Motor Corporation and Stryker Sustainability Solutions.
And now NewSouth Window Solutions, LLC will lay off hundreds in early 2025. I find that many Floridians are interested in manufacturing losses because they see it as a measure of the economy.

The Upcoming Layoffs And Closure: According to warn letter dated November 15, 2024, the company indicated that it was offering notification of a “mass layoff” at a Tampa location at 10741 Crossroads Commerce Boulevard.
225 positions will be terminated and these employees will begin separating from the company on January 18, 2025, and separations will be complete by February 1, 2025.
The layoffs are expected to be permanent and the company does not offer bumping rights. The letter indicates that current employees have already been notified about the layoffs.
