Firefighters were surprised by the unexpected arrival of police at a Central County Fire and Rescue firehouse earlier this month.
Police investigators arrived at a station in St. Peters, searching for an individual they had recently apprehended in a sting operation.
The individual in question was discovered to be a seasoned member of the fire department with 25 years of experience. They were apprehended and removed from their duties while on duty. Central Fire and Rescue promptly removed his picture and name from their website’s Meet the Team page.
According to court records, the individual in question is Allan Gacki, who was apprehended on May 16 as part of a human trafficking investigation conducted by the St. Charles police. Gacki was charged with a misdemeanor by the St. Charles County prosecutor for allegedly suggesting inappropriate behavior at his workplace.
Additionally, he is facing a felony charge for allegedly making an offer to deliver controlled substances to an undercover detective.
In this particular case, the undercover detective was not pretending to be a minor. The individual facing criminal charges is an adult.
Central County Fire and Rescue declined to provide an on-camera statement. However, Fire Chief John Schneider said, “I was notified by local law enforcement of an incident involving one of our employees. It involves some actions that do not reflect the culture and behavior that we expect of our employees. This gentleman is no longer a member of our department. We feel this should not reflect poorly on the great firefighter paramedics we do have.”
Gacki has been released from custody and has been issued a criminal summons to appear in court on July 26.
