On Saturday afternoon at 12:34 p.m., the Brighton Area Fire Authority along with mutual aid from the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority, were dispatched to a fire in Brighton Township.
The residential structure fire was reported in a home in the 500 block of Kampton Court in the Huntsmore subdivision off of Old US-23.
Upon arrival crews encountered smoke and flames coming from the second floor bedroom. Crews made a quick attack on the fire and contained it to an upper story room with the rest of the house suffering smoke and water damage.
One occupant was injured and transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
