An attic fire damaged a business in Brighton Friday morning.
The owner of C Three Automotive Repair on E. Grand River arrived at the location this morning and spotted ceiling drywall and insulation on the floor as well as smoke and flames in the attic.
According to Brighton Area Fire Authority Fire Marshal Rick Boisvert, it was a smoldering fire in the attic blown-in insulation.
“It burned through 9 trusses that were buried in the insulation and dropped the drywall and gave the fire the air it needed,” said Boisvert. “It is still under investigation but likely caused by the radiant tube heater exhaust in the ceiling being in contact with the newly blown-in insulation.”
There were no injuries and the extent of the damage is unknown, although the shop remained open Friday.
