2nd degree murder have been filed in relation to a fatal crash earlier this year in Tyrone Township.
46-year-old Emily Erichson-Vargo of Fenton was also charged with operating while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving causing death for the March 28th incident on White Lake Road. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment July 13.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says that Erichson-Vargo was driving a 2015 GMC Canyon southbound on White Lake Road when her vehicle left the roadway near Forest Lake Drive, struck several trees and overturned.
Whole Erichson-Vargo suffered non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized, a passenger. 32-year-old Nathan Matweychek, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office determined that neither Erichson-Vargo nor Matweychek were wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor.
Erichson-Vargo, who is free on a $500,000 surety bond, is set to appear for a probable cause conference in 53rd District Court on August 1st.
