A woman who fatally shot her boyfriend in the face as he got ready for a date with Miss Ohio, is now looking for a new partner from behind bars.
Shayna Hubers, a 33-year-old woman from Kentucky was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 after being found guilty by a jury of murdering her on-off boyfriend, Ryan Poston, in October 2012.
Poston, aged 29 at the time, was preparing to meet Miss Ohio 2012 Audrey Bolte for a date and had attempted to break up with Hubers, who was then 21.
During an immediate police interview following her arrest, she expressed her fears to detectives, asking if: “anyone will ever want to marry me if they know that I killed a boyfriend in self-defense – not funny.” However, two separate juries concluded that Hubers had murdered Poston in cold blood, not in self-defense.
Since getting locked up, Hubers has decided to take another stab at love and has posted 15 photos of herself on her dating profile, some of which were taken inside the prison.
She described herself as a “tall and thin brunette standing at 5’9″ inches tall and 115 pounds with lots of long, wavy, golden brown hair; big steel blue doe eyes, and a wide, bright smile on a heart-shaped face.”

“No one knows or can explain what I’ve been through besides me,” she added. Hubers hinted that she’s still hopeful of gaining her freedom soon, criticizing ‘false conviction theories’ and claiming her case was “used to obtain television ratings.”
The prosecution argued that she cold-bloodedly shot her lawyer boyfriend because he wanted to end their relationship. Hubers dialed 911 after the incident and informed the operator: “Ma’am, I killed my boyfriend.”
Upon arrival, police discovered he had been shot six times in the forehead, back and torso. She alleged that Poston had shoved her and thrown her against furniture just before she fired the initial shot at his face.
However, three of Hubers’ cellmates testified that she bragged about giving Poston the “nose job he always wanted” and allegedly laughed about his demise.
Their testimonies were similar to what Hubers herself confessed to the police after being questioned post-shooting. “He’s very vain,” she was recorded saying to the police. “One of our last good conversations was about him wanting to get a nose job. And I shot him right here. I gave him the nose job he wanted. I broke it.”
She also started asking officers about prison life, asking if she’d be permitted to bring her phone or take a shower. Hubers began dancing around the interrogation room, twirling and snapping her fingers, as she sang “I killed him, I killed him” and “I did it. Yes, I did it. I can’t believe I did that.”
