WOODBURY • An Orange County state trooper shot and killed a dangerous New York City fugitive on Wednesday afternoon in the Highland Mills neighborhood.
The stolen car that Ali Ali was driving crashed and caught fire on the Thruway. While hiding in the woods, Ali was caught on camera in a forested location.
State police officers shot and killed Ali in a heavily wooded area off Trout Brook Road at about 2 p.m., according to troopers. The officers were carrying division-issued firearms.
