In the Town of SULPHUR, La. ( MJP ) — A Texan man faced charges of driving under the influence following a tragic incident on Saturday night, where a man from Lake Charles was fatally hit while trying to cross I-10, as reported by the Louisiana State Police.
According to the state police, the tragic accident resulted in the passing of Daniel Courville, a 31-year-old individual who was trying to traverse I-10 West at approximately 9 p.m. after his car had veered into the median.
According to state authorities, a 45-year-old man named Juan Camacho from Texas was traveling in a 2004 GMC Sierra towards the west on I-10 when the collision with a pedestrian took place.

According to authorities, Courville passed away at the crash site. Camacho emerged unscathed from the incident.
According to the state police, Camacho was found to be under the influence and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated for the first time. Authorities mentioned obtaining a routine toxicology sample from Camacho and Courville for examination.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
