For the majority of those receiving Social Security benefits (SSDI and retirement), the payment period for August is nearly gone. Nevertheless, they will soon begin for those who are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
For those who are eligible, next week will be a fantastic time to get their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income payout. Because they were paid in August, three categories of claimants are ineligible to receive retirement or SSDI benefits this week.
Payments for social security upon August 28
On August 28, SSDI and retirement beneficiaries will get their next payment. On the other hand, if you have received SSI benefits prior to May 1997 or are now receiving them, you will not be eligible.
The qualifying birthday range for retirees is from January 21st to December 31st. As long as you have submitted your paperwork and received approval from the administration, the exact month and year of your birth are irrelevant.
On average, retirees may expect to get $1,919 in August. However, if they filed at age 70, earned the maximum amount for 35 years, and had jobs that paid enough taxes to SSA, they may obtain up to $4,873. The average SSDI benefit is $1,537, with a maximum of $3,822 for those with very high incomes.

The original due date for SSI payments was August 1, 2024, but Social Security postponed them. As a result, all payments for this month have been processed.
Unfortunately, September 1, 2024, cannot be used to send the SSI payment for September. For that reason, Friday, August 30th has been set as the date for Supplemental Security Income payments by Social Security.
On weekends or federal holidays, Social Security will never process a payment. Due to the closure of banks and offices, monthly payments will not be sent on time. For this reason, SSA prepays beneficiaries.
On average, SSI payments will amount to $695. The maximum individual payout of $943 may be available to some beneficiaries. We can give you up to $1,415 if you’re married. On August 30, 2024, essential persons will be able to get a cheque for up to $472.
