Evaluation ordered for Hamburg Township woman charged with trying to rob her mother

A Hamburg Township woman will undergo a competency evaluation after being charged with trying to rob her own mother.

35-year-old Sally Sharp is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of interfering with electronic communications for the June 13th incident.

The evaluation was ordered Thursday by 53rd District Court Judge Shauna Murphy, with a review hearing set for September 5th.

Pinckney Police say they were dispatched to a bank in the Village on a report from the employees that an older female in the drive-thru lanes passed a note saying, “Help me Call 911.”  That woman turned out to be Sharp’s mother. Sharp, who was the lone passenger in the vehicle, was placed under arrest after being interviewed by officers. Her mother was unharmed during the incident, which police say began in Hamburg Township at the victim’s residence.

Sharp remains jailed on a $250,000 cash bond.
