According to the authorities in Kentucky, a woman attempted to flush a newborn baby down the toilet at an IHOP restaurant.
An arrest citation from the Bowling Green Police Department states that on May 29, officers responded to a complaint from a witness who stated that a woman who seemed to be bleeding in the restroom was attempting to flush the baby down the toilet, suggesting that she may have experienced a miscarriage.
According to the report, authorities discovered what seemed like a “recently born infant in the bathroom,” but the baby was already dead when they got there.
Upon learning that the police had been notified, the 35-year-old suspect reportedly took off running from the site.
She was discovered standing in the parking lot of a Red Roof Inn near the IHOP, according to the police.
The woman allegedly refused to be examined by a doctor and denied having a baby.
According to the police, she informed them that she was “in town on business” from New York but was unable to give them her home address or any other details regarding her reason for being in Kentucky.
Authorities reportedly took the woman into custody in order to conduct an urgent mental health evaluation due to concerns for her safety.
Allegedly, she had concealed the fact that she had given birth.
The woman may face more charges as a result of the inquiry; hence, “an autopsy is pending” according to the police.
