Dangerous Bell Is Ringing Now! Unexpected Closure Hits Beloved Clothing Store Chain In Brooklyn, New York

The unanticipated closure of the final store in this state marks the end of a beloved clothes retail chain’s 17-year run.

Urban Outfitters sent a final message to its customers before closing its doors for good in Brooklyn, New York.

For seventeen years, this shop served the residents of the Cobble Hill area.

The Brooklyn Paper reports that the store’s closing day was marked on June 23 with a sign posted on the front door.

An additional comment that verified the permanent removal of this branch was attached to this one.

The sign instructed customers to visit another Urban Outfitters location on Long Island or Manhattan as the current one is closed indefinitely.

Even though the store’s front door and window are marked as locked, the retailer’s website lists this location as open.

There was a historic landmark building at the Cobble Hill site.

Above the store, a sign reading “John Curtin Inc. Sail Makers and Canvas Goods” was painted on the bricks.

The hip clothing, record albums, and home decor sold at Urban Outfitters are well-known.

A press release from the parent business of the chain, URBN, states that the company’s in-store sales have decreased.

The US Sun claims that, despite this, the brand’s internet sales have kept improving.

There have been closures at other fashion companies than Urban Outfitters.

Earlier this year, The U.S. Sun stated that Express, a fashion chain, had declared bankruptcy.

Six locations in New Jersey were recently closed by Express.

Shortly after filing for bankruptcy, the floundering retailer announced plans to shut over 100 stores.

Several JCPenney stores will be closing their doors to make significant changes, the company has said.

The chief information officer of the corporation announced a $1 billion initiative to update the chain’s technology.
