A major construction project will get underway Tuesday that will likely affect many motorists in Genoa Township.
The Livingston County Road Commission says that through traffic will be blocked due to paving and road resurfacing on Crooked Lake Road from Dorr Road to just past Latson Road slated to begin tomorrow with a planned completion date of July 1st.
The $4.36 million project will pave the gravel portion of Crooked Lake Road between Latson Road to Fishbeck Road. Pavement will also be replaced from west of Fishbeck Road to Dorr Road. Genoa Township is contributing $1.75 million toward the total cost.
The suggested detour route is Dorr Road to Challis Road to Bauer Road. Then take Brighton Road to Chilson Road, back to Latson Road.
The road will be open to local traffic only during the project with access to affected residential homes maintained while access to Three Fires Elementary School will be maintained from Latson Road.
