Two drivers were seriously injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Marion Township.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:38 p.m. to a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Pinckney Road(D-19) just south of Wright Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 22-year-old Howell resident who was operating a 2010 Ford Focus was heading north on Pinkney Road. The driver lost control while overtaking a mail delivery truck that was stopped at a mailbox making a delivery. The driver crossed over the left turn lane and traveled into the southbound lane striking a 2017 Jeep Cherokee that was heading south and was being operated by a 25-year-old Howell resident.
Both drivers were transported by Livingston County EMS to the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor for serious injuries. Speed and restraint use remain under investigation in the crash. However, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors.
This crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.
Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Livingston County Ambulance Service and the Howell Area Fire Department.
