The Food and Drug Administration said on Saturday that they were recalling cucumbers that might have been infected with Salmonella.
Cucumbers that were sent to wholesalers and dealers in 14 states from May 17th to May 21st, 2024, have been recalled by Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. in Delray Beach, Florida.
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture told the company that a sample of the product tested positive for Salmonella, which led to the recall. The FDA is testing the contaminated food right now to see if there are any possible links to ongoing cases.
The states where the recall has been issued are:
- Alabama
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Maryland
- North Carolina
- New Jersey
- New York
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- West Virginia
People are told to call their grocery store to find out if the cucumbers in question are available. The FDA, on the other hand, says it is very unlikely that the contaminated food has been sent to grocery shops.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in people who are weak, like babies, the old, and people with weak immune systems.
