HOMESTEAD, Florida —

A sketch of a man who, according to Homestead police, exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl before attempting to grab her was made public on Tuesday.

Authorities say that the incident happened on May 31 in the 1500 block of Northeast Eighth Street, near the Phoenix Apartments.

The victim saw a man in a car while she was crossing the parking lot to put trash in the dumpster, according to the police.

The individual was identified by the police as a Black man in his 40s or 50s with short hair, a dark complexion, and short hair. According to the authorities, he weighed between 150 and 175 pounds and stood between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall.

Police said that the man left his car with his pants undone and his “private parts” visible when the girl noticed him.

The victim said to the police that she retreated and fled toward the playground area to hide when he started to approach her and reach out to grab her.

The victim claimed that after a short while, the man left in the older, four-door vehicle, which was probably painted a beige or white color.

Authorities claimed that he was last observed traveling west on Northeast Eighth Street.

The Homestead Police Department is requesting that anyone with knowledge regarding the man’s identification contact them.
