Brighton Police have released surveillance video from the attempted theft of an ATM on Monday.

As GIGO News reported late Monday, police say that at about 3:15 a.m. officers responded to the Chase Bank located at 9858 E Grand River Ave. for an ATM alarm. Upon arrival, the responding officers found a truck that had crashed into the guidewires of a power pole and the ATM had been damaged.
It was determined that an attempt to steal the ATM had been made and the truck used in the attempted theft was also stolen.
Video from the attempted ATM theft shows the stolen truck back up to the ATM with a chain already prepped for use. Once the truck is stopped, three suspects, all dressed in black, exit the truck dressed and use crowbars to break into the ATM and set the tow chain.
After the tow chain is set, the truck pulls away in an attempt to access where the money is located. The camera then cuts out due to the truck striking guide wires to a utility pole.
The incident is still under investigation.
