The story was shared on Reddit’s “Am I the A——” forum by user Fit-Garden6141, who explained that her 29-year-old sister is planning a December wedding that she has been organizing for more than two years. The original poster (OP) described her sibling as someone who values “a perfect aesthetic” for everything, including her wedding day.
“Her Instagram basically looks like it was created by a lifestyle influencer,” OP wrote, explaining that her sister’s wedding vision leaves little room for flexibility — including when it comes to children.
At the time of the wedding, OP said her baby would be only three months old and that she was exclusively breastfeeding, making it nearly impossible to arrange for childcare or to be away from the newborn for an extended period.
The Bride’s Refusal
When invitations were sent out, OP noticed that hers did not include a “plus one” or any mention of children being allowed. She reached out to her sister, asking if she could bring her baby just for the ceremony and offered to sit quietly in the back in case the infant became fussy.
Her sister, however, refused to make an exception.
“She said she doesn’t want any children there at all,” OP explained. “When I said that meant I probably wouldn’t be able to come, she got super upset, saying I was being selfish and making her wedding about me.”
