SAN JOSE, USA —
Two citizens of San Jose were taken into custody on Thursday by the Department of Public Safety. The two young males are each charged with multiple armed robberies and an attempted murder that took place in June, according to the police. Now that they’ve been booked into jail, the two suspects were told by the police.
On June 9, at around 5:30 a.m., the San Jose Police Department (SJPD) was alerted to allegations of a robbery involving a lethal weapon and an attack in the 1500 block of Oakland Road.
After attempting to assist a woman who had been sexually abused, the man was “immediately” attacked when the police arrived. She was allegedly robbed of her pocketbook and other possessions, according to the police. According to authorities, the man who tried to assist the woman was transported to the hospital due to injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Following an investigation by the SJPD Robbery Unit Detective Unit, 21-year-old Michael Valdez and 18-year-old Joseph McDuffie were named as suspects.
Two men raped three males at gunpoint at approximately 5:30 in the morning the next day. “Valdez ordered one of the victims to lay on the ground after robbing him of his items and discharged his firearm at least once,” according to PD.
