On Wednesday, a juvenile male was apprehended and placed under arrest in connection with the recent tragic high school shooting in Georgia, which resulted in the deaths of four individuals—two pupils and two instructors.
Nearly two hours after the start of the school day, the suspect, later named as Colt Gray, began firing shots at Apalachee High School in Barrow County.
Guess who Colt Gray is?
The alleged gunman on Wednesday at about 10:20 a.m. was a 14-year-old Apalachee High School student named Gray.
After Gray surrendered and fired his weapon, a school resource officer confronted him, according to a news brief issued by Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith following the killing. Gray, he said, knew he would be shot to death if he stayed alive. Officials have stated that they are looking into the incident and trying to determine the perpetrators’ motivations.
“Once they encountered the subject, the subject immediately surrendered to these officers, and he was taken into custody.”
According to the sheriff, the juvenile will face murder charges and be tried as an adult.
