Two Women Made Dramatic History
It was Sheila Jackson and Natasha McCrea who made history. Among Californians, they are said to be the first Black women business owners to have their whiskey label.
The inspiration for the company came at a dinner party in 2020 where the founders became fast friends over their mutual love of whiskey. Together, they realized they could create a splash in the sector and went into business for themselves.
“We are never included in the conversation, even though many women love whiskey,” McCrea stated in an interview with Canvas Rebel. We both had considered launching our whiskey brands, and we discussed the increasing demand for whiskey in the market. There and then, we made up our minds that we would be the ladies to shake up a whole sector.
Jackson McCrea appeared on the scene in 2022. Despite coming from different backgrounds, the founders’ combined expertise is invaluable.
Executive producer of “The Good CEO” podcast featuring “bold, unapologetic CEOs” and head of a production firm that promotes Black women’s empowerment are both Jackson’s.

She told Forbes, “My entire career has been about empowering women, elevating our stories, and expanding our voice.”
“A sanctuary for ambitious women to discover the pleasure in living their best life,” according to the Love CEO Institute’s Instagram profile, which McCrea heads up while she’s a life coach.
Ownership of a whiskey business is in line with McCrea’s attitude and coaching concepts of creating the life he wants, he told Forbes.
Jameson McCrea Rye Whiskey
On the subject of products, Jackson McCrea offers a premium rye whiskey that has been aged in French oak Syrah wine barrels in California for five years. The website describes it as a Tennessee Rye.
Each of us is a mother to two extraordinary young people. Beloved motherhood is the most challenging profession there is. The launch of a new whiskey label is very similar… We sampled, sampled, and graded. Then, time and time again, we enjoyed the fruits of our labor.
Thus, our recipe came into being! They even sampled it with some of their favorite brands – and it still tastes great,” the business said on Instagram.
In an interview with Forbes, nonprofit director and publisher Krista Purnell praised the founders’ efforts in the spirits industry thus far:
Impressive work is being done by Sheila and Natasha in the whiskey industry. Thanks to their enthusiasm, originality, skill, and determination, they are shaking up a formerly male-dominated field. Glitzy female whiskey connoisseurs rave about their rye-based spirit for its balanced and velvety flavor.
