According to sources and police, a man who tragically texted his roommate that he had stabbed himself was discovered dead Wednesday in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx, hanging from a tree.
According to sources and officials, officers responded to a report of a guy who was hanging in the park and located the body in a wooded area at the intersection of Orchard Beach Road and Bartow Circle at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Authorities reportedly discovered a 9mm round casing close to the victim, who is currently unidentified pending notification of his family. The individual had wounds to his left forearm, neck, and stomach.
In a prior text message, the victim allegedly told the man’s roommate that he had stabbed himself, as reported by the sources.
According to the police, the formal cause of death will be determined by the municipal ME’s office.
