Arson suspect questioned and released in Green Oak Township fire

A suspect was taken into custody and later released concerning a suspicious fire at an unoccupied home in Green Oak Township.

Fire and Police Department investigators say the blaze at 10653 Fieldcrest Drive occurred on Friday morning at about 2 a.m. and that a connection between the homeowner and the suspect remains under investigation at this time.

The suspect, who was lodged at Livingston County Jail, is also believed to be involved in a possible arson in Oakland County.

Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy tells GIGO News that the 29-year-old suspect was questioned and then released pending further investigation.

 The Green Oak Township Fire and Police Department were assisted at the fire scene by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Central Dispatch, Livingston County EMS and the following Fire Departments; Northfield, Brighton Area, South Lyon, Hamburg, Putnam, Hartland, Ann Arbor Township and Dexter Area.
