More than 100 volunteers turned out Sunday for the 19th Annual South Lyon Area Creek Clean-Up and Earth Day Celebration, sponsored by Vibe Credit Union, South Lyon Area Boy Scouts Troop 228, Michigan Seamless Tube and the City of South Lyon Utilities Department.
South Lyon City Councilman Alex Hansen told GIGO News it was a record turnout as the group worked along the Huron River Watershed to remove dozens of tires and hundreds of pounds of other debris and garbage.
Among those pitching in were South Lyon City Council members and other elected officials also participated.
