Houston, Texas Following the event at a nearby fast-food restaurant last week, a Texas lady was arrested and charged with the abuse of a corpse.
According to Texas authorities, the woman went inside the establishment and locked herself in the restroom for hours while giving birth to her child.
After being taken to the hospital, the newborn was declared dead by the medical staff. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, and if authorities find she injured the infant, charges may be escalated, police officials said.
Authorities discovered throughout the investigation that the lady had reportedly tried to push the child down the toilet after giving birth.
After the restaurant worker phoned 911 and reported the occurrence to the dispatcher, the investigation process got underway.
The woman was approached by the responding cops, who then placed her under arrest. Authorities in Texas discovered throughout the inquiry that the woman had entered the establishment at midday, been there all day, and then entered the restroom at one in the morning.
Authorities were informed by the unnamed employee that he offered the woman water and checked on her multiple times.
The witness claimed that when in the state, the defendant made odd noises. A few hours later, the staff member threatened to contact the police if the woman didn’t leave the restroom.
Express News, a local news outlet, said that shortly after the mother left the stall, the witness peered inside and saw the newborn.
First responders learned that the lady allegedly tried, but failed, to push the infant down the toilet. First responders had to “physically grab the baby to pull it out of the toilet’s U-trap drain,” according to a statement issued by the authorities.
After being taken to the hospital, the newborn was declared dead by the medical staff. The woman was 30 weeks pregnant when she gave birth in the bathroom, according to the authorities.
According to the affidavit, the infant’s head injuries were consistent with being pushed down the toilet drain and flushed out.
