When Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s humanoid robot in 2021, he promised a 5-foot, 8-inch tall artificially intelligent assistant, but so far, the tech company has only delivered a seven-inch tall action figure resembling the highly anticipated machine.
The $40 Tesla Bot Action Figure went on sale on Saturday and the toy sold out in under 24 hours, Teslarati, an outlet that covers Musk, SpaceX and Tesla reported. As of Monday, the figure is still sold out and customers are only able to sign up to receive notifications about the toy’s restock.
The action figure is described by Tesla as “Your mini autonomous assistant and humanoid friend.”
“The Tesla Bot Action Figure is a 1:10-scale (collectible) and playable figurine precision engineered with over 40 individual parts and 20 points of articulation to look—and move—like our Gen 2 humanoid robot,” the tech company’s description of the toy reads.
In addition to receiving the action figure, customers can also expect a charging stand and a “CyberHammer” accessory to come with the toy, according to Tesla.
When will the Tesla Bot Action Figure restock?
Currently, the only way to buy the Tesla Bot Action Figure is on eBay, where listings range from around $130 to $1,300.
It is unclear how long it will take for customers who bought the figures from Tesla to receive them, or when the toys will restock.

When will Tesla’s humanoid robots come out?
During an earnings call on July 23, Musk said Tesla expects to begin limited production of the first version of its Optimus humanoid robot early next year, but this will only be for the company’s consumption so they can “iron out the issues” themselves.
“We expect to have several thousand Optimus robots produced and doing useful things by the end of next year in the Tesla factories,” the billionaire and Tesla CEO said during the call.
Tesla will ramp up production of the robots in 2026, and at that point, the second version of the machine will be available to outside customers, according to Musk.
