A 15-year-old kid was detained following a stabbing in Meridian on Thursday evening.
Meridian police responded to a stabbing report in the 1800 block of West Waltman Street at 6:11 p.m., according to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office blog post. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim had been stabbed numerous times, and the culprit had fled the scene.
Officers apprehended the young suspect at his home and took him into custody. The person was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The stabbing happened in unincorporated Meridian, where the county has jurisdiction, therefore the Sheriff’s Office took up the investigation, the department stated.
“Further inquiry revealed that the attack occurred in unincorporated Meridian (county jurisdiction). Detectives from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office went to the site and took over the investigation, according to the news release.
Sheriff’s deputies took the adolescent to the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of felony aggravated violence.
On Wednesday, another 15-year-old boy was arrested in South Boise for allegedly stabbing and attempting to rob someone. According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lauren Montague, the two instances are not related.
