MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (MJP) —
A Pennsylvania state police officer is dead after being stabbed along a public cycling trail, according to local law enforcement.
The Allegheny County Police Department wrote Monday it was alerted to an injured male near the Montour Trail in Moon Township just before 3:00 p.m. First responders say they located a 44-year-old male with a stab wound.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police later charged Pittsburgh resident Anthony Quesen, 25, with the killing. He is being kept in Allegheny County Jail while awaiting arraignment.
State police told The National News Desk they identified the victim as liquor enforcement officer Benjamin Brallier.

“The Pennsylvania State Police is heartbroken to confirm the tragic loss of one of our own, dedicated Liquor Enforcement Officer Benjamin Brallier, who was fatally stabbed while off-duty yesterday,” Commissioner Col. Christopher Paris said in a statement.
“With over 20 years of service, he was an exemplary officer and a devoted father and husband.”
The Montour School District cheer team on Tuesday shared a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist the Brallier family through “these trying days.”
That fundraiser earned over $13,000 as of Tuesday afternoon. Another fundraiser to send meals to the family earned over $2,800.
