To clear out inventory, Conlin’s is hosting massive sales with huge discounts. After a final sale, the business on South Washington Street in Grand Forks will permanently close down.
A combination of factors, including soaring prices and an explosion in internet shopping, led to the decision to shut down the business.
An event manager helping with the store’s closure, Melanie Stone, noticed a marked drop in consumer traffic, which she attributes to a lack of hurry to make purchases.
Despite this shutdown, Conlin’s will keep running fourteen additional stores in different states.
The Grand Forks location is offering steep discounts on all merchandise at the moment, but there is no set end date.
According to reports from GrandForksHerald, the building itself is also for sale.
Stone characterized the business’s closure as a cause for celebration and a last opportunity for customers to make purchases, noting that the store has played a vital role in the community.

A similar story unfolds at LL Flooring, which will rebrand under new ownership and quietly close 50 of its 400 stores.
