Avoid I-35 Major Closure After Shots Fired at Police in Liberty Area

(MJP) — In Kansas City, Missouri, After gunfire was heard at the intersection of southbound I-35 and U.S. 69, drivers are being cautioned to stay away from the area.

According to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department, which spoke with KCTV5, bullets were fired at officers on Friday, September 27, at about 7:35 p.m. in the vicinity of southbound I-35 and U.S. 69.

In an effort to apprehend the gunman, responding cops allegedly started pursuing the suspect’s vehicle, according to the KCPD. The criminal was apprehended in due time.

At 8 o’clock in the evening, detectives are still processing evidence near Highway 152, and southbound I-35 is still closed. The incident did not result in any injuries or retaliation from the police.
